Kibble analysis

Son Espace SantéBreeder

Reading a kibble label is not easy. Analyze kibble examines the photo of the label (ingredient list and analytical constituents) and gives you advice suited to your pet's profile and activities: strengths, weaknesses, how well it matches its needs, and tips.

Opening the analyser

  • From the menu, Health section, Analyze kibble entry.
  • Or from the Analyzer button in the bottom bar, if it is one of your buttons.

The analyser is available in Son Espace Santé and in the Breeder app. In the Breeder app, it is hidden by default: show it again from Customize the bar.

Running an analysis

  1. In the Animal field, choose the animal that eats this kibble. Your first animal is suggested by default.
  2. In the Activities field, describe its usual activity, for example "Canicross twice a week, a one-hour walk every day". A sporty dog and a flat-dwelling dog do not have the same needs.
  3. Tap Scan kibble label and take a photo of the label on the bag, or choose a photo you have already taken.
  4. Check the preview (the red cross removes it), then tap Validate and analyze.
  5. Wait a few moments: the answer appears under the "Expert Nutrition" heading.
Tip: Photograph the part of the label with the ingredient list and analytical constituents (protein, fat, etc.) up close, flat and well lit. A blurred or cropped photo gives a less reliable analysis.

What the analysis takes into account

The animal's profile

Species, breed, sex, age and latest recorded weight.

Its health

The diseases, operations and ongoing treatments noted on its profile.

Its activity

What you wrote in the Activities field.

The more complete your pet's profile (up-to-date weight, diseases, treatments), the better suited the advice.

Continuing the conversation

After the first answer, the screen becomes a conversation:

  • Type a question in the Ask a question... field (for example "How much per day?" or "Is it suitable for a neutered dog?") and tap the send arrow.
  • The camera icon lets you send the label of another brand, to compare.
  • Tap a photo you have sent to view it full size.

The assistant takes the latest exchanges in the conversation into account when answering.

Finding your previous analyses

All your conversations are kept. On the analyser's home screen, the Old discussions section lists them with the animal's name, a preview and the date: tap one to reopen and continue it.

  • During a conversation, the arrow at the top left takes you back to the list.
  • The + button at the top right starts a new analysis.

Good to know

  • The analysis requires an internet connection.
  • The answers are produced by an artificial intelligence specialised in nutrition. They can be wrong, especially if the photo is hard to read.
  • If the analysis fails, an error message appears instead of the answer: send the photo or your question again.
This advice does not replace your vet's. Before changing the diet of an animal that is ill, elderly or under treatment, ask your vet for advice, and always change food gradually.
