Illnesses, operations and health results

Son Espace SantéBreederShelterBoarding

Keep a record of your animal's illnesses, its surgical operations and, for breeders, its screening results. This information makes up the animal's medical history and appears on its profile.

Diseases & Operations

Getting there

  1. Open the animal's profile (see The animal profile).
  2. In the Health block, tap Diseases & Operations. The row sums up ongoing illnesses, or says "No illness or surgery reported".

The page has two blocks: Diseases (with the In progress and Previous illnesses sections) and Surgical operations.

Adding an illness

  1. Tap Disease in the action bar (or Add in the Diseases block).
  2. Start typing: suggestions suited to your animal's species appear.
  3. Choose a suggestion, or simply confirm what you typed: entry is free, so any illness can be recorded even if it isn't in the list.

The illness appears in the In progress section, dated the day you entered it.

Recording a recovery

On an ongoing illness, tap the green button (double tick). Enter the Date of recovery then tap Save: the illness moves to Previous illnesses, with its period.

Adding a surgical operation

Tap Surgical operation in the action bar (or Add in the Surgical operations block), then choose a suggestion or type the procedure freely (neutering, scaling, removal…).

Deleting an entry

Tap the bin icon next to the illness or operation, then confirm.

Tip: the animal's illnesses are also shown under its name in the list of animals. The report of a vet appointment can also record illnesses and operations (see Calendar and care).

Health results (Breeder)

Breeder

In the Breeder app, each breeding animal's profile has, in the Breeding block, the Health & genealogy section. It brings together the inbreeding coefficient (see Pedigree and studs) and the Health results: screenings (hips, elbows, eyes), DNA tests, heart examinations.

Entering a result

  1. In Health results, tap Add.
  2. Choose the Test from the list, sorted by category.
  3. Enter the Result: Clear, Carrier or Affected for a genetic test, or the grade obtained for a screening.
  4. If needed, fill in the Date, the Laboratory / veterinarian and a Note.
  5. Turn on Show on my website to publish this result on the animal's public page.
  6. Save with the save button.

Each result shows a globe if it is public, a padlock if it stays private. Tap the pencil to edit it, the bin to delete it.

Tests recommended for the breed

When the animal's breed is known, the page lists the tests recommended for that breed that have not yet been filled in. Tap Enter to enter the matching result directly.

Tests entered in the past as free text on the profile remain visible in a separate section.

Tip: attach the laboratory certificate from the animal's Documents section; the result remains valid without it.

Daily follow-up (Shelter)

Shelter

In the Shelter app, the Daily follow-up section (Tracking block of the profile) shows at a glance how many hours ago the animal ate and, if walks are turned on for your shelter, how many hours ago it was walked.

  • Last meal: tap Record a meal when the animal has eaten. Once a first meal has been recorded, an alert appears on the home page 24 hours after the last meal.
  • Latest walk: filled in by volunteers when they log their outings.
  • History: the list of recorded meals, outings and returns.
  • Quick action, in the action bar: records an outing, a return, a meal, care or a note.

To organise outings and the volunteers' work, see Volunteers and scheduling.
