Pedigree, health and studs
On each breeding animal's profile, the app brings together its family tree, its health results (screenings, DNA tests, examinations), its coefficient of inbreeding and, for a male, its stud activity with the history of its matings.
These sections are in the Breeder block of the animal's profile: tap Animals in the button bar, open the animal, then choose Pedigree, Health & genealogy or Stud (Litters for a female).
The pedigree
The Pedigree section shows the animal's tree as a circle: the animal in the centre, its parents then its ancestors on the following rings. For an animal registered with the LOF (or the LOOF for a cat), the Pedigree line of the profile also shows whether it is Confirmed or Not confirmed.
- The + and − buttons zoom in and out, and a third button returns to the original size.
- The download button saves the tree as an image, to share or print it.
- Tapping an ancestor shows its summary (LOF registration, confirmation, date of birth) and lets you Update it.
Filling in a missing ancestor
- Tap the add button in an empty box of the tree.
- Choose how to add it: It already exists (the animal is already in the app; you find it and link it), It belongs to me (you create its full profile, editable from your animals) or It is not mine (you enter its details: official name, kennel name, microchip, sex, breed, LOF registration…; it will only appear in this pedigree).
- Tap Save.
A litter's pedigree, with its future young in the centre, is in the Pedigree section of the litter page (see Litters).
Health & genealogy
Coefficient of inbreeding (COI)
At the top of the section, the app shows the animal's COI, calculated over a number of generations that you can Edit. It is calculated with Wright's formula from the known common ancestors: unknown ancestors count as unrelated, which is why it is worth completing the pedigree.
The What if… (mating simulator) button calculates the COI of a future litter with a partner of your choice (see Heats and breeding). It is included in the paid plans.
Health results
- Under Health results, tap Add.
- Choose the Test (hip or elbow screening, eye conditions, DNA tests, heart examination…).
- Enter the Result: a grade (for example A to E for hips), a DNA status (Clear, Carrier, Affected) or a text, depending on the test.
- Add the Date, the Laboratory / veterinarian and a Note if needed.
- Tick Show on my website to publish this result on your website, then save.
Results are grouped by category. To attach the certificate, first add it to the animal's documents (see Documents and health record): the result remains valid without it.
If you had noted tests as free text before 2026, they remain visible under Tests (free text, before 2026).
Declaring a stud
On a male's profile, the Stud section starts with his stud profile:
- Turn on Stud dog.
- Turn on Available for stud service (shown on the website) to offer him on your website.
- Enter the Stud fee and the Conditions (for example: fee due at mating, free return at the next heat if there is no litter).
- Tap Save.
Three indicators sum up his activity: the number of Matings, the number of Litters obtained and the fertility (litters obtained relative to matings).
On your website, an available stud shows his conditions and a "Request a mating" form. Requests arrive in your waiting list with the source Stud request (see Puppy waiting list and Public page and website).
Recording a mating
A mating is the transaction: who owns the stud, the terms, the contract and the invoice. A litter can exist without a recorded mating, but recording it gives you the contract, the certificate for the SCC and the invoice.
- From a male's Stud section or a female's Litters section, tap New mating. From a female's breeding follow-up, use Record the mating.
- Which female? or Which stud?: choose an animal from your kennel or from another kennel. An outside animal can be searched for by LOF number or microchip, or created (name, kennel name, LOF number, breed, microchip) with Use this animal.
- When and how?: the Mating date and the Nature (Natural mating or Artificial insemination).
- If the other animal belongs to another kennel, choose or create the owner client, then the price: Stud fee (with Create the invoice automatically), A puppy of the litter (specify which) or Free. If needed, add a Return clause (what happens if the female is not pregnant).
- Add Notes and tap Record the mating.
When both animals are yours, there is no contract or invoice: the mating is simply recorded.
After recording
Each mating in the Matings list offers:
- Contract (PDF) and Contract (Word) for an editable mating contract;
- Certificate: the mating certificate for the declaration to the SCC;
- Create the invoice if you own the stud, or Record the received invoice if you own the female; the invoice is created as a draft in the accounting and attached to the litter;
- Create the litter (or Litter at our kennel): the litter is created with the father, the mother and the mating date, even if the father is from outside.
Existing litters without a recorded mating are flagged ("litter without a recorded mating") with a Record the mating button.
Frequently asked questions
The coefficient of inbreeding seems too low to me.
The calculation only takes known ancestors into account. Complete the pedigree over several generations for a more accurate figure.
Can a private result appear on my website?
No. Only the results for which you have ticked Show on my website are published.
