This page takes you from installation to your first animal: create your account, choose the right app, then find your way around the menus.

Choosing the right app

Son espace santé comes as four apps, one for each use. They share the same account: a single email address and a single password for all of them.

Son Espace Santé

For pet owners: health, care, calendar, journal and community.

Son Espace Éleveur

For breeding kennels: litters, breeding, waiting list, registers and invoicing.

Son Espace Refuge

For shelters and associations: animals in care, foster families, adoptions, volunteers and donations.

Son Espace Pension

For boarding facilities: bookings, stays, scheduling, stay logbook and invoicing.

Creating your owner account

In the Son Espace Santé app, the home screen offers the Create my space button. Sign-up starts with your animal: your account comes at the end, in four steps.

  1. Your pet: add a photo if you like, enter the Pet name and choose its Species (Dog, Cat, Rabbit, Horse or Other, which opens a list of species).
  2. A few more details (optional): date of birth and sex. The Skip button lets you fill these in later.
  3. A few preferences: weight unit (kg or lb), Public journal to show your animal on a page you can share with your family, and signing up for the Newsletter.
  4. Your account: enter your email and, if you like, your first name, then tap Create my account.

The Continue button moves on to the next step, Back goes back. Nothing is saved until the account is created: if you leave before the last step, what you entered is lost.

Password or quick login

  • In a browser, choose a password of at least 8 characters, not only digits, and different from your email and your first name. The rules are shown as you type.
  • On iPhone and Android, you are not asked for a password: the app creates a strong one and saves it in your phone's password manager.
  • You can also create your account with Google, Facebook or Apple, using the buttons above the email field.
Tip: you don't have an animal yet or would rather add it later? On the first step, tap Create an account without a pet.
If your email is already used on another Son espace santé app, the message You already have an account appears. Tap Log in and use the same email: there is no need to create a second account or a new password.

Creating a professional space

In the Breeder, Shelter and Boarding apps, a space is created on our secure web portal.

  1. On the app's home screen, tap Create your free account. The portal opens in your browser.
  2. Fill in the form with your business details, your email and your password, then confirm with Create my space.
  3. Go back to the app, tap I already have an account and log in with the same email.
  4. The first time you open it, a wizard guides you through completing your facility's details.

Do you use Son Espace Santé and are you also a professional? On the Son Espace Santé home screen, tap Are you a professional?: the Breeder, Boarding and Shelter buttons take you to the matching app.

If you are joining an existing team (employee, volunteer, partner), the facility's administrator adds you from The team: see Members and permissions.

Adding your first animal

If you entered an animal when signing up, its profile already exists. Otherwise, the Son Espace Santé home screen shows Welcome! with the Add my first pet button.

You can also use the Pets button in the button bar. All the steps are detailed in Adding an animal.

Once you have created your first animal, a Stay on top of things banner offers to turn on notifications for vaccine and treatment reminders. Tap Turn on to receive them, or Later.

Finding your way around the app

The button bar

At the bottom of the screen, the button bar gives access to the main sections. In Son Espace Santé, by default it contains:

  • Homepage: your animals' dashboard (see The home screen);
  • Journal: the news feed of your animals and your friends;
  • Friends: your friends and the accounts you follow;
  • Agenda: your upcoming appointments and care;
  • Pets: the list of your animals and their profiles.

The other sections (Invoices, Map, Chat, Pharmacy, Activities…) are behind the More button at the end of the bar. On a phone, 5 buttons are shown directly; on a computer, 8.

The professional apps have their own buttons: for example Litters for Breeder, Tracking and Plan for Shelter, Boardings and Settings for Boarding.

Tip: you can choose the order of the buttons and hide the ones you don't use with Customize the bar. See Settings.

The menu

The button at the top left opens the menu. On a large computer screen, it stays permanently displayed at the side.

It groups the sections by theme (Health, Tracking, Community, Accounting, Management, Organisation for professionals, Account, Support) and, at the very bottom, your name, the language choice, the light or dark theme and logging out.

The action bar

On most pages, a bar just above the button bar holds the page's actions: Back on the left, and the main action such as Save or Add on the right.

Without an account

Some parts remain accessible without signing up, from the app's home screen:

  • the Community map (in Son Espace Santé), with cyanobacteria reports and beaches and bathing spots: see Community map;
  • the directory of breeders, shelters and boarding facilities, via Browse the community directory.
